Every 250 Hours or Yearly - Draining and Refilling Cutterbar

IMPORTANT: Change oil in the cutterbar after the first 50 hours and then every 250 hours or yearly, whichever comes first.

2. Raise machine using tractor hydraulics, apply handbrake, place transmission in park, shut off tractor engine and remove key.

3. Engage cylinder lift stops on both sides.

4. Place a piece of wood under left-hand end of cutterbar.

5. Disengage cylinder lift stop on left-hand side only.

6. Lower machine onto wooden block.

7. Put a container of about 15 L (4 U.S. gal) under cutterbar left-hand check plug (A).

8. Remove right-hand check plug (C).

9. Remove left-hand check plug (A) to drain oil.

10. Apply sealant on threads of check plugs.

11. Reinstall check plugs (A) and (C) after oil has been drained and tighten to specified torque.

Specification

12. Raise machine using tractor hydraulics, shut off tractor engine and remove key.

13. Engage cylinder lift stop on left-hand side.

14. Remove wooden block.

15. Disengage cylinder lift stops on both sides.

2. Remove refill plug (B).

3. Add John Deere HY-GARD ® high viscosity oil, or equivalent (see "Cutterbar Oil" in this Section).

NOTE: Approximate cutterbar oil capacity is:

• 525 Mower-Conditioner 5.7 L (1.50 U.S. gal)

• 530 Mower-Conditioner: 7 L (1.85 U.S. gal)

• 535 Mower-Conditioner: 8 L (2.11 U.S. gal)

4. Apply sealant on threads of refill plug (B).

5. Reinstall refill plug (B) and tighten to specified torque.

6. Check oil level (see "Every 50 Hours - Checking Cutterbar Oil Level" in this Section).
