Breaking-in Mower-Conditioner

causym CAUTION: Stay away from the machine while it is running. Always disengage PTO, shut off tractor engine and remove key before inspecting machine to avoid personal injury.

IMPORTANT: Do not operate machine in transport position unless optional CV platform driveline is installed. Operating in transport position with standard driveline can damage machine drive train.

1. Swing tongue into operate position.

2. Lower machine to the ground.

3. Run machine empty at slow idle speed for 15 minutes.

4. Disengage PTO, shut off tractor engine and remove key.

5. Inspect machine.

6. Run machine at rated PTO speed (540 or 1000 rpm) for 15 minutes.

7. Disengage PTO, shut off tractor engine and remove key.

8. Inspect machine.

9. On a new machine, avoid heavy loading during the initial two hours of field operation. Run at rated PTO speed at least one gear slower than the machine's normal capacity.

10. Check wheel hardware torque after the first 10 hours of use (see "Checking Wheel Hardware Torque" in "Preparing the Mower-Conditioner" Section).

11. Change oil in cutterbar and gear cases after the first 50 hours of use.
