Slipping PTO Driveline Slip Clutch

causym CAUTION: To help prevent personal injury caused by unexpected movement, be sure to service machine on a level surface

If machine is attached to tractor, engage tractor park brake and/or place transmission in "Park", turn off engine and remove key.

If machine is detached from tractor, block wheels to prevent movement.

1. Remove gearbox shield by pushing up on latch on shield bottom. Lift shield from tabs on top of gearbox and slip it down driveline.

2. Slip driveline yoke cover back to access yoke.

IMPORTANT: Loosen slip clutch bolts evenly. Failure to do so will cause clutch to fail.

If machine is operated with a seized-up clutch, damage to drive train may result.

NOTE: Do not loosen cap screws more than three turns.

3. Loosen six slip clutch cap screws (A) evenly, one to two turns at a time.

4. Place a wood block between cutterbar disk and frame to prevent disk from rotating when turning slip clutch.

5. Insert a bar between yoke (B) and U-joint.

6. Turn slip clutch with bar, ensure clutch will slip.

7. Remove bar from yoke.

8. Remove wood block from cutterbar.

9. Tighten six slip clutch cap screws (A) evenly, one to two turns at a time.
