In Case of Fire

Stop cutting/conditioning immediately at the first sign of trouble. This may be a scorched smell, an unusual sound, or the sight of smoke or flame.

Do not risk personal injury. If a fire is too far advanced, do not try to extinguish it.

If you can safely extinguish the fire, proceed carefully and follow these guidelines:

• Position the tractor upwind from the mower-conditioner to avoid the fire from overtaking the tractor.
• Drive away from any crop material.
• Use a fire extinguisher or other source to spray water at the base of the flame, and to cool adjacent parts.
