Attaching Mower-Conditioner Two-Point Hitch to Tractor Quick-Coupler Hitch

CAUTION: To avoid bodily injury or machine damage whenever an implement is attached, put transmission in PARK position and check the full range of hitch for interference, binding, or PTO separation.

Do not stand between tractor and implement.

NOTE: John Deere 7000 Series tractor shown throughout procedure.

    A - Load/Depth Control

    B - Latch Handle (2 used)

    Turn tractor load/depth control fully counterclockwise (A).



  2. IMPORTANT: Contacting mower-conditioner hitch pins with the levers in the locked position may result in damage to the latch mechanism.

    Pull up on coupler latch handles (B).

  3. CAUTION: To prevent possible injury, use ONLY hitch control lever (A) when attaching implements. DO NOT use raise/lower switch (B).

    Lower hitch until quick-coupler hooks are lower than mower-conditioner hitch pins.



  4. Back up tractor to mower-conditioner hitch.

  5. Raise hitch high enough to engage mower-conditioner hitch pins in hooks.

  6. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

  7. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

    Push coupler latch handles (A) down to lock mower-conditioner to quick-coupler hitch.



  9. Attach PTO driveline. (See procedure in this section.)

    A - Control Lever

    B - Depth Stop Knob

    Slowly pull hitch control lever (A) to raise mower-conditioner hitch. Check for interference. Lower hitch to ground and adjust if necessary.



  11. Raise hitch until main PTO driveline is in horizontal position.

  12. Adjust depth stop knob (B) to maintain a level driveline.

  13. Adjust implement level, lift links and lateral float. (See procedures in your tractor operator's manual.)
