Indicators For Baler Operation

BALE SHAPE INDICATORS (A)

Bale shape indicators show the shape of each end of the bale by measuring slack in the two outside belts nearest the left-hand and right-hand sidesheets. When the left-hand belt is tight, the left-hand indicator will read high showing that side of baler is filled with hay. As the indicator falls, it indicates that side of the bale needs hay to tighten the belt. (Refer to INTERPRETING BALE SHAPE INDICATORS in this section.)

IMPORTANT: Do not bale in red zone. Belts and drive loads increase as bale size approaches maximum diameter. Frequent forming of oversize bales can lead to premature failures.

BALE SIZE INDICATOR (B)

Used as a guide to approximate bale size. Reading near top indicates small bale. Reading near bottom indicates large bale. The red zone indicates an oversize bale.

TWINE ARM INDICATOR (C)

Indicates position of twine arms and is used as a guide for spacing twine on the bale.

Manual Hydraulic Tie: AUDIBLE BALE SIZE ALARM (A)

NOTE: Following steps describe operations with Manual Hydraulic Tie. For Auto-Tie operations refer to Operating with BaleTrak ™ Pro Systems section.

The alarm first comes on when bale is near desired size. Continue baling and keep indicators even and as high as possible until bale size alarm stops. When bale size alarm (A) stops, stop forward travel and extend twine arms.

If baling is continued, the alarm (A) will restart to warn of oversize bale. Immediately stop forward travel and start twine wrapping cycle.

IMPORTANT: Do not continue to bale after alarm sounds the second time. Baling oversize bales can reduce machine life.

Alarm volume is adjustable. (Refer to ADJUSTING AUDIBLE BALE SIZE ALARM VOLUME - Manual Hydraulic Tie in this section.)
