Wheel Spindle Positions 11L-14 and 31 x 13.5-15 Tires-Regular Pickup
NOTE:
Wheel spindle position controls baler height and feeding capacity.
Normal position
is recommended for most baling conditions.
-
Recommended with bale ramp. Bale diameter may have to be reduced depending tractor drawbar height.
-
Pickup teeth will touch the ground when pickup is completely lowered. Recommended to adjust height with at least 25 mm (1 in.) ground clearance.
Lowered position
is recommended for short, dry, slick or brittle crop conditions. (See BALING SHORT, DRY, SLICK CROPS in Operating the Baler section.)
-
Not recommended with bale ramp. Remove bale ramp, if equipped. (See REMOVING AND INSTALLING BALE RAMP in Service-Baler section.)
-
Pickup feeding capacity may be reduced especially in normal crop conditions.
-
Pickup transport clearance will be reduced.
-
Pickup gauge wheels (if equipped) will not provide a minimum of 25 mm (1 in.) of tooth-to-ground clearance. Use mechanical crank to control pickup height. (See ADJUSTING GAUGE WHEELS in Operating the Baler section.)
-
Adjust pickup float springs to provide more force (float). (See ADJUSTING PICKUP FLOAT SPRINGS in Service-Baler section.)
Raised position
is recommended for cornstalks, straw crops with tall stubble, or soft ground conditions. (See BALING CORNSTALKS in Operating the Baler section.)
-
Recommended with bale ramp.
-
Pickup teeth will not touch the ground with pickup completely lowered.
-
If pickup will not lower or bounces excessively, adjust pickup float springs to provide less force (float). (See ADJUSTING PICKUP FLOAT SPRINGS in Service-Baler section.)
