A - Idler Sprocket Nut

B - Dimension, 10—16 mm (3/8—5/8 in.)

To ensure that all slack is removed from chains;

• Close gate and engage PTO a few seconds.
• Stop tractor engine and remove key.

1. Open left-hand side door.

2. To adjust idler sprocket on 459 and 559:

   • Loosen idler sprocket nut (A).
   • Adjust idler sprocket to meet total mid-span chain deflection (B) specifications.

     Mid-Span Deflection	Distance	10—16 mm (3/8—5/8 in.)

   • Remove one or two links when idler sprocket is within last 10 mm (3/8 in.) of slot travel.
   • Tighten idler nut (A) to specification.

     Idler Nut	Torque	163 N·m (120 lb.-ft.)

   
   

3. To adjust idler sprocket on 459S and 559S:

   • Loosen idler sprocket nut (A).
   • Adjust idler sprocket to meet total mid-span chain deflection (B) specifications.

   • Remove one or two links when idler sprocket is within 10 mm (3/8 in.) of slot travel.
   • Tighten idler nut (A) to specification.
