Check and Adjust Lower Net Wrap Guide

IMPORTANT: If clearance (C) is too close, slitting of net material can occur.

   Check that belts are not pinched between lower belt guides straps (A) and crossbar (B). Tighten nuts on both sides of crossbar.

2. NOTE: To reduce net material slits while baling cornstalk, milo, or sorghum, adjust clearance to 4—5 mm (0.16—0.20 in.).

   NOTE: Use 3 mm (0.12 in.) and 5 mm (0.20 in.) drill bit as a gauge to check clearance between each strap and crossbar.

   G - Washer, 10.50 x 18 x 1.60 mm

   Check and adjust clearance between ends of all belt guide straps and bottom crossbar. Clearance must be within specifications.

   Ends of Belt Guides-to-Bottom Crossbar	Clearance	3—5 mm (0.12—0.20 in.)

   To obtain clearance:

   1. Loosen lock nut (A) and nut (B).

   2. Add or subtract washer (G) and shims (C) on each side as needed.

   3. Tighten nut (B). Then tighten lock nut (A) on both sides.

   4. Recheck clearance on both sides and adjust as needed.

3. NOTE: Always check clearance between ends of all belt guide straps and bottom crossbar. (See Steps 1 and 2 before proceeding to Step 3.)

   IMPORTANT: If 0.5—2.5 mm (0.020—0.100 in.) clearance (A) is exceeded, outside belts will pass between belt guide washer (B) and guide (C) and damage belts.

   Check clearance (A) between guide washer (B) and lower net wrap guide (C). Clearance must be within specifications.

4. If clearance is not within specifications, loosen nut (E) and add or subtract shims (F) between net wrap guide (C) and deflector (D), as necessary. Tighten nut (E).

5. Recheck belt guide washer-to-lower net wrap guide clearance (A), on both sides and adjust if necessary.

6. Adjust belt tracking. (See ADJUST BELT TRACKING in Service section.)
