Adjust Bale Size Link For Maximum Bale Size (Oversize Warning)

1. Adjust bale size switch. (See ADJUST BALE SIZE SWITCH — MANUAL HYDRAULIC TIE in this section.)

2. Close gate.

   B - Spring Strap Cap Screw

   D - Switch Roller

   E - Washers

   Clamp bale size link (C) to the spring strap cap screw (B) using a pair of locking jaw pliers. (This is to keep the link from moving as the gate is opened.) Position the plier jaws over the spring strap cap screw (or washers) and under lower edge of link.

4. Raise gate fully using tractor hydraulics (tension arm must be raised), then lock gate.

5. Switch roller (D) must be centered on washers (E). If roller is not centered on washers, measure the distance between center of roller to center of rear washers.

6. Close gate and move bracket (A), forward or rearward, the number previously measured.

7. Repeat Steps 2—6, as necessary, until roller is properly centered.

   NOTE: If unable to attain proper roller position, see your John Deere dealer.
