False slip indication or speed display exceeds ±

Replace tone wheel.

Reverse tone wheel so
magnets are next to sensor.

Check sensor resistance.
Good multimeter reading will be approximately 3000 Ohms. Bad multimeter
reading will be zero Ohms. Replace sensor if multimeter reading is
zero Ohms.

Tone wheel magnets must have opposite polarity and attract
sensor

If a tone wheel magnet
does not attract sensor, magnet has to be flipped and reglued or replace
tone wheel.

Sensor polarity does not attract any of tone wheel magnets

Replace sensor.

Gap between sensor and tone wheel or clutch fins is
too big
