Adjust Pickup Drive Belt Idler—Regular Pickup (569)

  1. IMPORTANT: The belt tensioner is designed to protect pickup components; overtightening reduces protection. Check adjustment daily.

    A - Jam Nuts

    B - Clearance, 4—6 mm (5/32—1/4 in.)

    C - Nut

    D - Spacer

    Before adjusting idler, perform the following:

    1. Start tractor engine and engage PTO.

    2. Observe spacer (D) relative to nut (C).

      • If total movement is more than 3 mm (1/8 in.), inspect belt for a burn or thin spot and inspect drive sheave groove for debris.
      • Inspect belt and replace if necessary.

    3. Stop tractor and remove engine key.



  2. Adjust pickup idler as follows:

    1. Loosen jam nuts (A).

    2. Adjust rear jam nut (A) until clearance (B) between nut (C) and end of spacer (D) is within specifications.
