Checking Operator Presence System
The operator presence feature is designed to deactivate or alarm
the selected systems when the operator leaves or is not in the seat.
The selected systems are:
-
Header drive
-
Engine
-
Transmission
Header Drive
-
Operator must be seated in order to engage
-
Power is maintained to the header drive for 5 seconds after
the operator leaves the seat. After 5 seconds header function stops.
-
After header has stopped automatically the header drive switch
must be cycled. Move the switch to the OFF position and back ON to
start.
Engine and Transmission
-
Engine will NOT start when header drive switch is ENGAGED.
-
Engine will NOT start if transmission is ENGAGED. Transmission
must be in NEUTRAL.
-
Engine will stop if the windrower is moving at 8 km/h (5.0 mph)
or less and the operator leaves the seat.
-
If the operator leaves the seat and the transmission is NOT
in NEUTRAL, after 5 seconds the lower display will flash NOT IN NEUTRAL
and audible alarm will sound.
-
Seat must be fully locked into cab-forward or engine-forward
position. If seat is BETWEEN these positions, engine will stop if
the transmission is NOT locked in NEUTRAL.
IMPORTANT: If the operator presence fails to function properly,
see your John Deere dealer.
The operator presence system should be checked every 500 hours
of operation or if a component of the system has been serviced. See
this procedure at the 500 hour service interval in the Lubrication
and Maintenance section of this manual.
