A - Fill Plug

B - Drain Plug

C - Breather/Fill Cap

On the W150 windrower, change the gearbox oil after the first 50 hours of operation.

NOTE: There is no gearbox oil service necessary on the W110 windrower.

To change gearbox oil:

  1. Park the windrower on firm, level ground.

  2. Shut the engine off and remove the key.

  3. Remove plug (A). The oil should be visible through the hole or slightly running out.

  4. Remove drain plug (C) and allow oil to drain.

  5. Install drain plug (C) and fill oil through the breather cap (B).

  6. Once oil is up to or starting to run out of the check plug (A) install the plug.

  7. Operate the engine at low idle and check for leaks at the check and drain plug.

Final Drive Oil

E63278
E63278-UN-23APR12

A - Drain/Fill Plug

B - Drain/Fill Plugs

Drain and refill the final drive oil after the initial 50 hours of operation.

  1. Park the windrower on a flat level surface with the wheel being serviced positioned so the fill/drain plug (A) is at the 6:00 position or bottom drain position, as shown.

  2. Lower platform. Turn off engine and remove key.

  3. Remove plugs (A) and (B) and drain the oil. Inspect magnetic plugs for metallic particles.

Tip: Drain the oil at the end of the work day while warm and allow to drain overnight.

NOTE: Some particles are expected and should be considered normal.

  4. IMPORTANT: Inspect plug O-ring and replace if damaged.

Rotate the wheel to bring the fill/drain plugs to the horizontal position shown.

  5. Fill final drive with clean oil until oil level is at same level as bottom of plug (B).

Use only SAE 75W-90 API-GL5 Synthetic oil after initial break-in period.

NOTE: Final drive oil specification below is per side.

  6. Clean and install plug (B) and (A). Tighten to specification.

  7. Repeat Steps on opposite final drive.

  7. Screw the new filter onto the mount until the gasket contacts the filter head.

  8. Tighten filter an additional 1/2 turn by hand.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT use a filter wrench to install the new oil filter. Over-tightening can damage the gasket and filter.

  9. Start the engine and run the windrower for a few minutes to circulate the hydraulic fluid.

  10. Stop the engine and remove the key.

  11. Check the hydraulic fluid and add, if necessary.
