Starting the Engine
Before the engine may be started the following conditions must
be met:

Operator must be in seat with seat belt fastened.

Steering wheel must be centered.
-
GSL (Ground Speed Lever) must be in N-DETENT (Neutral Detent)
position.
-
Header drive switch must be in OFF position.

CAUTION: Avoid possible death or serious injury from machinery
runaway. Do not start engine by shorting across starter
or starter solenoid terminals. Machine will start and move with GSL
control handle in forward or reverse drive position, or with the steering
wheel not centered, if normal starting circuitry is bypassed.
Before starting engine, be sure area is well ventilated.

NOTE: The GSL (A) must be at rest to the right in the neutral
park position (N-Detent).
Sound the horn to alert anyone in the area of your intention.

Turn the ignition switch to ON and monitor the engine pre-heat
lamp. If lamp glows, wait until it goes out before turning the switch
to start. If the lamp does not glow after the switch has been turned
to ON, continue with the next step.

Turn the ignition switch to the start position until the engine
starts.

IMPORTANT: Do not operate starter more than 30 seconds at a
time. If engine does not start, wait at least two minutes before trying
again. If engine does not start in four attempts, refer
to Troubleshooting section.
Release the switch.

Monitor the CDM (Console Display Monitor) and confirm that machine
functions are normal.
