W110 Field To Transport

CAUTION: STOP engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator’s seat for any reason.

  1. Set the header on the ground. (field position)

  2. Disconnect hydraulic and electrical connections.

  3. Store left side hydraulic hoses and electrical cable into the storage position. See the header operator’s manual.

  4. Release the right side multi-link and place into storage on windrower. See the header operator’s manual.

Retrieve temporary lift pin from storage location on weight box and install into rear hole (A) at the top of the lift arms for additional lift height for transport wheel deployment.

CAUTION: To avoid bodily injury from fall of raised header. ALWAYS engage header lift cylinder stops when working on or around raised header.

  6. Start engine and raise header to full height.

  7. Stop engine and engage safety locks on lift cylinders.

  8. Deploy header slow speed transport system. See header operator’s manual.

    E - Latch

    F - Notch

    G - Link Nut

    H - Link Barrel

    J - Cotter Pin

To unlock the center-link, pull up on latch (E) and locate latch into notch (F) on top of hook.

  12. Lift center-link off header pin.

  13. Slowly back windrower away from header, shut engine OFF and remove key from ignition.

CAUTION: W110 rear hitch is approved for canola roller transport only.

  14. Attach header transport hitch to header.

    Mechanical Link

    1. Loosen nut (G) and rotate barrel (H) to relieve load on link.

    2. Remove cotter pin on pin (J) and remove pin to disconnect from windrower. Re-install pin in header.

    3. Back windrower away from header.

    4. Remove towbar sections from storage locations on header, assemble, and attach to header. See header operator’s manual.

IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the lift system when lowering header lift linkages without a header or weight box attached to windrower, ensure that float engagement pin is installed in storage location (C) and NOT installed at hole location (B).

    5. Attach weight box by driving windrower so that windrower lift arms are located in the weight box pockets.

    6. Raise lift arms slightly.

    7. Stop engine and remove key.

      E61956-UN-02APR12

Install locking pins (D) into pockets and through windrower header lift linkages. Secure with retaining pin.

NOTE: Pins (D) were previously removed from the header lift linkage lower end.

Hold drawbar support (K) and remove the two pins (L) at the forward end.

    10. Lower support to position shown and reinstall the two pins (L) in uppermost pair of holes in support.

    11. Alternate drawbar (M) can be removed if necessary.

      A - Drawbar

      B - Tow-Bar

      C - Pin

      D - Drawbar Support

      E - Drawbar Pin

Back the windrower up to the towbar (B) so that drawbar hole is within 150 mm (6 in.) of the towbar clevis pin (A).

The W110 drawbar provides approximately 300 mm (12 in.) of fore-aft movement to ease the attachment of a towed implement.

  1. Back the windrower up to the towbar so that drawbar hole is within 150 mm (6 in.) of the towbar clevis pin.

  2. Stop engine and remove key.

If the towbar is TOO FAR from drawbar:

  3. Remove pin (C), lift the drawbar support (D) until the towbar clevis aligns and then install the drawbar pin (E).

  4. Start engine and gently reverse the windrower until the drawbar support pivots down to transport position.

  5. Stop engine and remove key.

  6. Re-install pin (C) to secure drawbar.

  7. Connect safety chain (G) through the slot (H) in drawbar support (D) and securely attach the hook (J) to the chain (G). Leave enough slack to allow the hitch to pivot.

  8. At the drawbar connect the towbar harness plug to the receptacle on the windrower.

  9. At the LH float spring tower attach connector on windrower harness to towing harness receptacle.

  10. Confirm that the flashing amber and signal lights on header function properly.

  11. Before moving the machine double check that all pins are secure, the drawbar and hitching components are not showing signs of damage and that all safety equipment is installed and functional.

If the two-bar is TOO CLOSE to the windrower:

  1. Remove pin (F), lower the drawbar support (D) until the towbar clevis aligns and install the drawbar pin (E).

  2. Start engine and gently drive the windrower forward until the drawbar support pivots up to transport position.

  3. Stop engine and remove key.

  4. Re-install pin (F) to secure drawbar.

    K - Tow Harness Plug

    L - Connector

    M - Tow Harness Receptacle

Connect safety chain (G) through the slot (H) in drawbar support (D) and securely attach the hook (J) to the chain (G). Leave enough slack to allow the hitch to pivot.

  6. At the drawbar connect the towbar harness plug (K) to the receptacle on the windrower.

  7. At the LH float spring tower attach connector (L) on windrower harness to towing harness receptacle (M).

  8. Confirm that the flashing amber and signal lights on header function properly.
