Coolant Concentration
Check the condition and concentration of the engine coolant
annually.
Coolant Test Strips
Coolant test strips are available from your John Deere dealer.
These test strips provide a simple, effective method to check the
freeze point and additive levels of your engine coolant.
Operating without proper coolant additives will result in increased
corrosion, cylinder liner erosion, pitting and other damage to the
engine and cooling system.
The quality of water used with coolants and additives is extremely
important to the performance of the cooling system. Distilled, deionized
or demineralized water is recommended for mixing with ethylene glycol
and propylene glycol base engine coolant concentrate.
The relative concentrations of glycol and water in the engine
coolant determine its freeze protection limit.
