Draining Fuel Tank

Draining the fuel may be necessary to remove old or contaminated
fuel.
Stop engine and remove key.
Confirm that all components are cool to the touch.
Have a suitable container ready. Try to capture the first portion
of fuel in a glass container for inspection.
CAUTION: Dispose of contaminated fuels properly. Handle fuel
carefully. Do not smoke while handling fuels. Keep trouble lights
away from fuels. Turn off engine and remove key before draining fuel. Prevent fuel from contacting skin or painted surfaces. Fuel
contact with skin will irritate the skin causing blistering.

Open engine compartment hood to lowest position.

Close fuel supply valve (B).

Place container under fuel supply hose (C).

Loosen clamp and pull hose off fitting.

Route hose to container and open valve (A).
-
If necessary, add some clean fuel to tank to flush.

Reattach hose to fitting and install clamp.
