A/C Evaporator Service
The air conditioning evaporator should be checked annually for
cleanliness. If the air conditioning system produces insufficient
cooling, a possible cause is clogged evaporator fins. Fins will clog
up from the side, opposite the blowers.
The evaporator is located inside the heating air conditioning
unit under the cab.
To clean the evaporator, proceed as follows:
CAUTION: Stop the engine and remove key from ignition before
leaving operator’s seat for any reason. A child or even a pet
could engage an idling machine.

D - Blower Side Air
Blow compressed air through the evaporator fins from the
blower side first (D), as shown. Direct the air straight into the
evaporator to prevent fin damage. A nozzle extension will make the
procedure easier.
-
Repeat this step from the side opposite the blowers.
-
If dirt is still present, soak the evaporator with water to
loosen dirt and blow out with compressed air.
-
Reverse the procedure, after servicing the evaporator, to replace
the cover and drain hoses.
