Before attaching the baler, be sure to adjust the baler drawbar and the hitch eye position.

Verify that machine is level:

  1. Connect the hydraulic hose leading to the valve (A) to the relevant tractor selective control valve.

  2. Open the valve (B) at the end of the hose at the tractor side.

  3. Place valve lever (C) to jackstand position (1) as shown.

  4. Raise or lower jackstand until the baler drawbar is level. Measurement is taken at the axle frame (D) with a standard spirit level (E) as shown.

F - Bolt and Nut, Intermediate Bearing

    Adjust Drawbar (A) Position:

Select the correct position in accordance with your tractor so that the tractor and machine are lined up correctly (see Preparing the Tractor section).

To adjust the drawbar (A) and hitch eye (C), turn the drawbar (A) and hitch eye (C) for high or low hitching.

The drawbar (A) can be adjusted to both a low and a high hitch, within the following ranges:

    • High Hitch (1)—0.84—1.15 m (2 ft 9 in—3 ft 9 in)
    • Low Hitch (2)—0.38—0.70 m (1 ft 3 in —2 ft 4 in)

    1. Secure the drawbar (A) using suitable hoist.

    2. Loosen the bolts and nuts (B).

    3. Place the drawbar (A) to the required position using the hoist.

Fit the drawbar (A) always using a minimum of four bolts and nuts (B) on each side. The distance of the bolts and nuts must be as far from each other as possible, with a minimum overlap of five holes.

    4. Tighten the bolts and nuts (B) to specification.

      Bolts and Nuts (B)Torque400 N·m (295 lb·ft)

    5. Remove the hoist.

  6. Adjust Hitch Eye (C) Position:

    1. Minimum distance allowed between the hitch eye cap screws is 140 mm (5.5 in) on L1524 and L1534 only. Use only the holes farthest apart to achieve proper distance.

Remove and retain cap screws, washers, and nuts (D).

    2. Move the hitch eye (C) to the required position.

    3. Install previously removed cap screws, washers, and nuts (D). Tighten the cap screws and nuts to specification.

      Cap Screws, Washers, and NutsTorque700 N·m (517 lb·ft)

  7. Attach baler to the tractor (see Attaching and Detaching section).

  8. Adjust Intermediate Bearing Position:

To achieve an optimal telescoping driveline angle, the intermediate bearing (E) can be placed in two positions, standard is the highest position. The angle of the telescoping driveline in respect to the axle of the intermediate bearing (E) must be kept as small as possible.

Tighten the bolts and nuts (F) to specification.
