Packer System

A - Measuring Plates

B - Cable

C - Lock Pin

D - Pin

E - Hook

The position of the measuring plates (A) is controlled with cable (B). When lock pin (C) is activated, pin (D) is caught by hook (E). The transport movement of the packer is converted into an input movement.

A - Pre-Chamber

C - Packer Fork

D - Plungerhead

E - Crop Package

F - Adjusting Lever

G - Automatic Position

H - 1:1 Position

Depending on the crop conditions and the required bale density, the crop density can be set in the pre-chamber (A). Changing the pressure of the measuring plates (B) influences the crop density. The level and the density in the pre-chamber (A) determines when the packer forks (C) feed the crop before the plungerhead (D) in the press chamber. That way the crop package (E) that is fed in the front of the plungerhead (D) always has a constant required volume for a regular bale shape.

1:1 Position Shown

Adjusting lever (F) has two positions:

  • In automatic position (G), the measuring plates (B) move backwards until the required density and volume is reached. Then the crop is fed into the press chamber. Automatic position is standard setting.
  • In 1:1 position (H), the measuring plates (B) are moved backwards and are locked in this position. Now, at every plungerhead stroke a filling stroke takes place. The pre-chamber density cannot be set with the lever in 1:1 position.

A - Lever

B - Automatic Position

C - Dimension, 120 mm (4.72 in)

To adjust the pre-chamber density, proceed as follows:

  1. Disengage the PTO.

  2. Set lever (A) to automatic position (B).

  3. Recommended adjustment for pre-chamber density: Adjust dimension (C) to 120 mm (4.72 in).

If packer overload clutch is activated, the pre-chamber density is set too high. Increase dimension (C) to reduce density.

If necessary, shorten dimension (C) to increase the crop density.
