Avoid injury or death. Never work on a machine while it is running.

Due to its inertia, the baler continues to rotate after PTO is disengaged. Stay clear of the machine until it has come to a complete stop. Apply the flywheel brake.

Before the machine is transported on the road and before changing fields or crops, both the pre-chamber and the press chamber must be cleaned.

Clean Pre-Chamber:

Clean the pre-chamber as follows:

  1. Set lever (A) to 1:1 position (C).

  2. Disengage flywheel brake.

  3. Engage tractor PTO. The packer empties the pre-chamber.

  4. Disengage the PTO and apply the flywheel brake.

  5. Move the lever (A) back to automatic position (B).

Clean Press Chamber:

When the pre-chamber has been cleaned, the press chamber can also be cleaned as follows:

  1. Engage the tractor PTO.

  2. When there is no more crop to bale, tie the last bale.

  3. Press the set pressure to zero button (A) once to relieve the press chamber guide cylinder hydraulic pressure.

  4. Eject the last bale with the bale ejector (see Operate Last Bale Ejector in this section).

  5. Disengage PTO and stop the tractor engine.

  6. Remove the ignition key and wait until the baler has come to a complete stop.

  7. Place the trip mechanism lever in locked position (see Install Twine (L1533 Only) or Install Twine (L1534 Only) in preparing the Baler section).

  8. Clean bale press chamber.
