A - Needle

B - Distance, 0 mm (0 in)

C - Force, 0—20 N (0—2 kg) (0—4.4 lbf)

D - Height, 2—3 mm

E - Lock Nuts, Outer (4 used)

F - Lock Nuts, Inner (4 used)

Adjust needle:

• Trip the tying mechanism.
• To raise the needles to the top dead center position, turn the flywheel by hand to the right.
• Remove and retain outer lock nuts (E) on both sides.
• Loosen inner lock nuts (F) on both sides.
• Move the needle (A) to the left or right or up and down as necessary to achieve the correct position.
  • Distance (B) between the side of needle and knotter frame (slightly touching) specification.

    Needle-to-Knotter Frame	Distance	0 mm (0 in)

  • Force (C) to free needle (A), (move to the left-hand side), from the knotter frame specification.

    Needle-to-Knotter Frame	Force	0—20 N (0—2 kg) (0—4.4 lbf)

  • Height (D) between the bottom of the needle and the top of the twine retainer specification.

    Needle	Height	2—3 mm

• Tighten inner lock nuts (F).
• Install previously removed outer lock nuts (E).
• To complete the cycle, continue to turn the flywheel to the right.
