Operating pickup too close to ground causes excessive tooth breakage.

Adjust pickup working height as follows:

  1. Place valve lever (A) to position (1) as shown.

  2. Fully raise the pickup with relevant selective control valve lever.

  3. Remove spring pin (B) from the pin.

  4. Place the bracket (C) to raise or lower the gauge wheel (D) at the desired position.

  5. Install spring pin (B) on the pin.

  6. Lower pickup and check that tip of pickup teeth (E) is about 20—30 mm (0.78—1.18 in.) above the ground.

  7. Repeat procedure, if necessary.

In rough or stony conditions, set gauge wheels (D) to their highest position, then adjust pickup working height using the retaining chain (F).

Attach the chains (F) at the required working height, on both sides to the support (G).
