Adjust Guide Block

  1. There are two guide blocks on each side of baler along top and bottom of plunger roller rails.

    Check Gap Using Feeler Gauge

    A - Screws
    (2 used, each side)

    B - Shims (as required)

    Rotate flywheel by hand to move plunger inside bale forming chamber. Verify gap between guide blocks and baler frame using a feeler gauge as shown. Check gap at front, middle, and back positions of plunger stroke.

    To adjust plunger side-to-side, remove or install shims between guide blocks and plunger on both left- and right-hand sides as needed.

    • Turn flywheel by hand until guide block screws (A) are visible through holes. Engage flywheel brake.
    • Loosen screws on guide blocks.
    • Add or remove shims (B) to obtain specified gap.

    • Tighten screws to specification.

    Verify equal distance from plunger to retainer locations (A) and to scraper locations (B).



  3. Check clearance of plunger scraper plates and scrapers and adjust as necessary. (See Adjust Plunger Scraper in this section.)
