Check for Wear

  1. Checking for wear using a L1533 baler. L1534 baler is similar.

    A - 1:1 Locking Lever

    B - Spring Pin

    C - Distance

    D - Bottom of Slot

    Engage 1:1 locking lever (A) and place into LOCKED position.



  2. Verify roller is fully down on lower portion of cam.

    Turn flywheel counterclockwise until hook latches fully over pin and feeder forks start rearward motion into a filling stroke.

  3. Remove spring pin (B) and washer from top of hook.

  4. Inspect hook pin (C) and bottom of slot (D) for wear. If a groove is worn into the pin or there is mushrooming and deformation of the slot the parts must be replaced with new.


Repair Hook Lift Mechanism

Refer to mechanism exploded views. (See Hook Lifting Mechanism Exploded View in this section.)

  • L1533 Baler: Replace timing plates (3), spacers (12), roller (13), and timing arm (18).
  • L1534 Baler: Replace roller plate (10), bushings (11), roller (13), timing plates (16), and timing arms (17).
