Test Net Wrap Actuator Current
This test is used to determine the working condition of the
actuator through its entire range of operation.
To test the actuator motor and linkage:
-
Turn the tractor ignition key to the ON position. Do not start
the tractor engine.
-

E84879-UN-09OCT17
Select the Settings softkey.
-

E64643-UN-11MAY12
Select the Baler Diagnostics softkey.
-

E84890-UN-09OCT17
Select the Test Output softkey.
-

A - Actuator Extend Softkey
B - Actuator Retract Softkey
Using the Actuator Extend softkey (A) and the Actuator Retract
softkey (B), operate the net actuator through a full cycle. Observe
the actuator current (C) on the monitor. During extension, the current
flow must be between 1—8 Amps.
-
Below normal readings indicate low tractor voltage, or poor
or corroded harness connections.
-
Above normal readings indicate binding linkage or partially
shorted motor windings.
-
A current spike can indicate an obstruction or binding in the
linkage.
-
Continue to extend the actuator to the end of the stroke. While
the actuator is stalled, the current reading must be between 22—30
Amps. Check the stall current both on extension and retraction.
-
Select the Actuator Retract softkey and move the actuator to
the home position.
-
Turn the tractor ignition key to the OFF position and remove
key.
