Operate Baler in Automation Mode Using B-Wrap (Automation Level 1)

Before attempting to operate the tractor and baler in the automation mode, the operator must be familiar with the tractor and round baler in normal operation. It is recommended that the operator make several bales before changing to the automation mode to become familiar with the tractor and baler combination.

Before automation mode activation, check following conditions:

• Desired baler settings are all selected (baler push bar must be disconnected)
• Automation level 1 is selected and Pause Mode check box (D) is selected

  Auto-PTO must be selected to operate in B-Wrap automation. This allows baler to command PTO off.

  If Pause Mode check box (D) is not selected the gate opens immediately after the tying cycle completes and the PTO is commanded off.

• Baler rear gate selective control valve is selected. (See SELECT REAR GATE SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVE in this section.)
• Automation state pie (B) shows Ready-to-Enable (2/4 of pie). (See AUTOMATION STATE PIE in this section.)

   Select and activate icon (C) to switch automation state (B) to Enabled (3/4 of pie).

   Move tractor reverser level to forward position and press tractor-implement automation resume switch. (See TIA—TRACTOR-IMPLEMENT AUTOMATION section in your tractor operator’s manual.)

4. Automation state pie is switched to Active (4/4 of pie) and monitor beeps to indicate that automation mode is activated.

5. Increase tractor ground speed and begin baling.

6. The operator can adjust ground speed as necessary for baling normally at any time.

   If Automation Level 1 was selected and the baler is set to wrap in B-Wrap mode when the bale diameter selected is reached, decelerate and stop the tractor.

   Back up baler until audible beep is heard or far enough that windrow will not be entered after dumping bale.

   Backing up the baler is required due to the push bar being disconnected. Leaving the push bar connected can cause improper bale orientation, possible tears in the breathable material when the bale is pushed across crop stubble, or for the bale to unroll itself if the net catches on crop.

   During the wrapping cycle the baler commands the PTO to turn off.

   If the PTO is not automatically turned off see ENABLE AUTO-PTO OFF FOR B-WRAP AUTOMATION to ensure the Auto-PTO off check box is checked.

10. Be sure that bystanders are clear and there is sufficient clearance behind bale when opening the gate.

    To prevent injury or damage from a rolling bale, discharge bales on level ground or in such a manner that the bale does not roll.

    Once the wrapping cycle is complete ensure that the reverser lever is either in the forward or power zero position and that the tractor is stopped. Press the Automation Resume Switch (if in Pause Mode). The baler then commands the tractor SCV selected to control the baler gate to open and discharge the bale.

    Once the bale is discharged, begin forward movement. Once forward movement is detected the baler commands the PTO back on.

    Once the baler has moved 2 m (6.56 ft.) forward the tractor SCV selected to control the baler gate closes the gate.

    After the B-Wrap cycle is complete, Baler Ready to Go arrow (A) is displayed to indicate that the baler is ready to proceed in automation mode.
