Wheel Spindle Positions on 450M and 550M Balers with MegaWide™ Plus Pickup and 14L x 16.1 Tires

Wheel spindle position controls baler height and feeding capacity.

    A - Cap Screw, M16 x 180 (4 used) (Without Bale Ramp)

    A - Cap Screw and Flat Washer, M16 x 200 (4 used) (With Bale Ramp)

    B - Spacer Plate

    C - Flange Nut, M16 (4 used in Normal Position)

    C - Flange Nut, M16 (6 used in Raised Position)

    D - Spindle

    E - Cap Screw, M16 x 80 (2 used)

    Install cap screws (A and E), spacer plate (B), flange nuts (C), and spindle (D).



  2. Tighten to specification.

    Flange NutsTorque300 N•m (275 lb·ft)

Normal position is recommended for most baling conditions.

  • Pickup teeth do not touch the ground with pickup lowered depending on tractor drawbar height.

Raised position is recommended for straw crops with tall stubble and soft ground conditions.

  • Pickup teeth do not touch the ground with the pickup lowered.
  • Install tires. (See Tire Installation and Wheel Nut Torque in this section.)
