    A - Lever

    B - Brake Band

    C - V-belt

    D - Sheave

    E - Cap Screw

    Open the net wrap cover.

  2. Lift the feed roll brake lever (A) to slack the brake band (B).

To aid in assembly, record the location and number of shims on both sides of the sheave (D).

  3. Remove the cap screw (E), washer, shims, sheave (D), and V-belt (C).

    A - Net Cut-Off Arm

    B - Tab

Connect the BaleTrak™ power plug to the tractor convenience outlet.

  5. Energize the tractor circuits by turning the tractor key to the ON position. Do not start the tractor engine.

  6. Press and hold the COUNTER key while turning the BaleTrak™ ON.

  7. To advance to CH 018, continue to hold the COUNTER key and press the PLUS key. Release the COUNTER key.

  8. Extend the actuator fully (angle to the highest position) by pressing the EXTEND key.

  9. Check the position of the right-hand net cut-off arm (A). The arm must contact the tab (B) firmly. If correct, proceed to Step 10.

To obtain a firm contact, if the position is incorrect, adjust the base end of the mounting bracket as follows:

    • Avoid personal injury from an unexpected knife movement. Disconnect the net actuator wiring connector or power plug when adjusting or working in the area.

Disconnect the BaleTrak™ power plug from the tractor convenience outlet.

      A - Screw (2 used)

      B - Nut (2 used)

Loosen the screws (A) on the top of the bracket and nuts (B) on the bottom end of the bracket.

    • Connect the BaleTrak™ power plug to the tractor convenience outlet. Repeat steps 5—7.
    • Retract the net actuator fully (to the shortest position), and tighten the bracket mounting bolts.
    • Extend the net actuator and recheck for a firm contact.
    • Retract the net actuator fully.

    A - V-belt

    B - Sheave

    C - Washer

    D - Cap Screw

Install sheave shims as removed. Move shims from the inner or outer sheave as necessary for proper sheave alignment.

Install the V-belt (A), sheave (B), shims, washer (C), and cap screw (D). Tighten cap screw to specification.

A - Feed Roll Brake Lever

Disengage the brake lever (A) by placing the lever on the top of the lock tab.

  12. Remove the net material from between the rolls. The knife must be fully down.

  13. Verify that the rubber and steel rolls are clean.

  14. Check that the brake band and V-belt sheave are clean and dry.

  15. Ensure that the rubber and steel rolls turn freely with the brake lever (A) disengaged.

  16. Engage the feed roll brake to the sheave by lowering the brake lever and lock on the bottom of the tab.

  17. The timing bolt controls the brake performance.

    A - Tension Tube

    B - Lock Nut

    C - Specified Distance

Adjust the timing bolt with the lock nut (B) loose. Damage to the brake can occur.

The functional range of the timing bolt gap is 1.5—6 mm (0.059—0.236 in).

To adjust the timing bolt to the specified distance, loosen the lock nut (B) while holding the tension tube (A) using the wrench flats.

Photo 3—Timing is Incorrect (Broken Net Material Has Snapped Back)

Verify that the net material is feeding properly:

    • When the brake timing is correct, the net material is snug against the steel roll as shown in Photo 1.
    • If the brake timing is too late, a loop of net material can develop and cause feeding issues as shown in Photo 2. Increase the timing bolt-to-hex distance.
    • If the brake is too soon, the net material “snap back” can occur and can result in feeding issues as shown in Photo 3. Decrease the timing bolt-to-hex distance.

After adjustments are made, turn the BaleTrak™ ON.

Return the net knife arms to the home position by pressing the WRAP key. Turn the BaleTrak™ OFF to cancel the STOP alarm. If this procedure is not followed, net material will be fed continuously during the next bale.

  21. Connect the BaleTrak™ power plug into the tractor convenience outlet. Energize the circuits by turning the tractor key to the ON position. Turn the BaleTrak™ ON.

  22. Cycle the net wrap actuator by pressing the WRAP key. The counterknife is at the home (downward) position.

  23. Turn the BaleTrak™ OFF. Turn the tractor key to the OFF position. Remove the key. Disconnect the BaleTrak™ power plug from the tractor convenience outlet.
