Apply Oil Dry Granules to Belts
If belts are new and have not been used, add oil
dry granules to simulate crop dust or the belts may not track properly
on the rolls.
It is best to apply oil dry granules onto belts on a sunny,
dry day with the baler in a building or under shelter. If the baler
is outside, be sure that belts and rolls are dry. Do not apply oil
dry granules on damp (early morning dew) belts.

When positioning the gate to provide access for service,
always make sure tension arm (A) is fully raised and against the tension
arm stops (B) preventing the gate from lowering unexpectedly.Always raise the gate fully and lower it to the desired opening
height before engaging gate lock. Crop material can hold the tension
arm at a lower position and material can be redistributed during servicing.
Even if the gate lock is engaged, the tension arm (A) could swing
up and suddenly lower the gate.
Failure to verify that tension arm (A) is positioned against
stops (B) can result in serious injury or death.
Close the gate any time the baler must be left unattended.
To avoid serious injury from entanglement, ensure bystanders
stand clear when operating baler. DO NOT apply oil dry granules with
baler running.

A - Tension Arm
B - Tension Arm Stop
Position gate as follows:
-
With the tractor attached to the baler, open the gate fully.
Lower the gate until the belts are slack and the tension arm (A) remains
against the tension arm stop (B). Lock gate, shut off the tractor
engine, and remove key.
-
Stand outside of the baler tire, and liberally sprinkle oil
dry granules on all the belts. Unlock the gate, start tractor, raise
gate fully, engage the PTO to rotate the belts approximately 2.4 m
(8 ft) and disengage the PTO. Lock the gate, shut off the tractor
engine, and remove key.
-
Repeat step b, until complete length of belts are thinly coated.
-
When removing oil dry from the rolls (A), lock the
gate, shut off the tractor engine and remove key.

A - Rolls
If belts are slightly damp, or humidity is high, oil dry
granules can stick to rolls (A). If rolls are coated, remove oil dry
granules from the rolls, and reapply to the belts.
