Adjust Bale Ramp (If Equipped)
Bale ramp regulator valve must be adjusted to initial
setting (set for heaviest bale) before operating gate and bale ramp.
Initial setting:
-
Loosen lock nut.
-
Turn valve stem fully counterclockwise, then turn valve stem
clockwise 4-1/2 turns. (Final adjustment is determined
by field operation.)
-
Tighten lock nut.
Check operation of the bale ramp by slowly opening and closing
gate fully using tractor hydraulics.
Check initial timing setting by opening the gate and observing
ramp operation. Gate must be almost fully raised before ramp tilts.
Timing can change slightly with the oil temperature. If
operating in cold weather, cycle the ramp multiple times prior to
making the adjustment.
To adjust gate-to-ramp timing:
-
Loosen lock nut.
-
Turn valve stem in or out approximately 1/4 turn at a time to
regulate oil flow, changing gate-to-ramp timing.
-
If ramp tilts too soon, delay timing (decrease oil flow) by
turning valve stem clockwise approximately 1/4 turn at a time. Recheck
timing.
-
If ramp does not tilt, advance timing (increase oil flow) by
turning valve stem counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn at a time.
Recheck timing. This will cause ramp to tilt sooner
and provide more pressure to lift heavy bales.
-
Tighten lock nut.
-
Start tractor engine and recheck timing. Adjust as necessary.
