Lock the Gate
Engage the gate lock before working on or around the
gate in the raised position. Always raise gate fully and lower to
desired height before engaging gate lock. Failure can result in serious
injury or death. Close the gate anytime the baler must be left unattended.

A - Gate Lock Lever
B - Interlock Lever
While working inside or around the baler with an open gate,
the tension arm must be fully raised. The tension arm must be against
its stops and the gate lock lever must be moved to the locked position.
Use this safety feature anytime the gate is open.
The gate lock valve locks each gate lift cylinder independently
with the gate in any position. If the hydraulic lift system failed
on one side of machine, the gate would still be held open by the other
side.
When locking the gate in any position:
-
Raise gate fully.
-
Lower gate to desired height.
-
Rotate interlock lever (B) and move gate lock lever (A) to locked
position (shown).
-
Verify that tension arm is fully raised and against its stops.
Before operating baler with the gate closed, make
sure that gate lock lever is in the UNLOCKED position. Damage to the
baler can occur with the gate lock engaged.
If gate lock lever can be moved to locked position with gate
fully closed, interlock lever (B) is not adjusted properly. (See Check
Gate Lock Valve Interlock Lever Adjustment in Preparing the Baler
section.)
