Preparing Baler for Transport

The construction of this implement may not meet all local or national requirements for operation on a public roadway. In regions or countries that have national certification requirements for roadway operation, it may be impossible for this implement to be approved for such roadway operation. The customer is responsible for understanding and complying with all local, regional, and national requirements regarding roadway operation.

  1. To avoid injury to others, transport baler with bale chamber empty.

    Empty bale chamber before transporting.



  2. Close gate completely.

  3. Raise pickup fully.

  4. Prevent collisions between other road users, slow moving tractors with attachments or towed equipment, and self-propelled machines on public roads. Frequently check for traffic from the rear, especially in turns, and use hand signals or turn signal lights.

    Use headlights, flashing warning lights, and turn signals day and night. Follow local regulations for equipment lighting and marking. Keep lighting and marking visible and in good working order. Replace or repair lighting and marking that has been damaged or lost.

    Be sure SMV emblem (C), turn/warning lights (B), tail lights (A) and reflectors (D) are clean and visible. Make sure baler turn/warning lights operate with tractor warning lights and turn signals.

    Ensure jackstand (A) is pinned in storage position with PTO support pin (B), as shown.



  6. A safety chain will help control drawn equipment should it accidentally separate from the drawbar. Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the tractor drawbar support or other specified anchor location. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning. Do not use safety chain for towing.

    Make sure safety chain (A) is attached to drawbar support or other specified anchor locations. Do not fasten to drawbar. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning.



  7. If transporting machine behind a tractor without connecting PTO driveline, remove PTO driveline assembly. Transport parts in another vehicle to prevent possible loss, damage, and contamination to driveline assembly.
