Adjusting Front Twine Arm

Twine arms can move unexpectedly. Keep hands out of twine arm path to avoid crushing. turn off power BEFORE servicing or adjusting twine arms or twine cutter mechanism.

Stay out of the path of twine arms at all times when power to twine arms is ON.

  1. Move twine arms to "home" position as follows:

      Electric Twine Wrap;

    • Turn tractor key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine.
    • Turn monitor-controller ON.
    • Press and momentarily hold TWINE/NET key to select TWINE mode.
    • Press EXTEND or RETRACT key to move twine arm (A) under cutter link support (B).
    • Set monitor-controller selector switch to OFF (centered) position. Turn tractor key to OFF position. Remove key.

    J - Front Twine Arm

    K - Rear Twine Arm

    Remove cap screw and nut (E), spring-locking pin (D), washer (G), spacer (H), spring (C) and twine spacing strap (F).



  3. Measure height difference (I) between tops of twine arms (J) and (K). Twine arm (K) must be higher than twine arm (J) to within specifications.

    Front Twine Arm-to-Rear Twine ArmDistance4.5—7.5 mm (3/16—5/16 in.)

  4. To adjust distance, loosen nut (A) enough so end of twine arm can be moved manually with some resistance.

    • If height difference (I) is less specified, move end of twine arm down until correct dimension is obtained.
    • If height difference (I) is greater than specified, move end of twine arm up until correct dimension is obtained.

  5. Tighten nut (A) to specifications.

    Twine Arm NutTorque80 N˙m (60 lb.-ft.)

  6. Install twine spacing strap, spring, spacer, washer and nut and bolt. Install spring-locking pin (D) in desired hole.
