Removing and Installing Machine Shields

NOTE: There are two different types of shields your machine can be installed with: small (standard) shields and large shields (additional kit installation).


Remove and Install Rear Machine Shields (Small Standard Shields)

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in SAFETY section.)

  2. NOTE: Any time shields are removed, clean all debris from the top surface of the mower deck and under all sheaves before shield installation.

    On left side of machine, remove three capscrews (A) and belt shield (B).


  3. On right side of machine, remove two capscrews (C) and belt shield (D).

  4. To install, place shield onto machine tabs and secure with screws.


Remove and Install Rear Machine Shields (Large (step 2) Shield Kit)

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in SAFETY section.)

  2. NOTE: Any time shields are removed, clean all debris from the top surface of the mower deck and under all sheaves before shield installation.

    Loosen screws (A) and remove shield (B) from machine tabs (C).


  3. Repeat procedure for opposite side of machine.

  4. To install, place shield onto machine tabs and secure with screws.


Remove and Install Engine Drive Sheave Shield

  1. Push in two tabs (A) and remove drive sheave shield (B).

  2. Repeat procedure for opposite side (C) of machine.

  3. To install, install one shield, locking two tabs at top of shield. Install second shield mating tabs (D) before fully installing shield into tabs.
