Replacing Chopper Blades
CAUTION:
Shut off engine, set park brake and remove key.
To install a new blade, remove cap screw (A), washer (B), nut (C) and spacers (D) from rotor blade support.
Replace any broken or damaged chopper blades immediately. A broken blade will unbalance the chopper and cause serious damage.
IMPORTANT:
Chopper balance must be maintained. Replace blades in pairs in opposing rows (180 degrees apart). Also replace the two blades at the same point at the other end of the rotor. Eight blades must be installed to replace one broken blade, or all the blades can be replaced at one time. This must be done to keep vibrations to a minimum.
For example:
If blade (E) is broken, replace blades (F), (G), (H) and blades (I), (J) (K) (L) on the opposite end of the rotor.
