Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Diagnostic Trouble Codes may be accessed using the VISIONTRAK ™ Display.

Each control unit is represented by an address:

  • ALL - All Control Units
  • A00 - Engine Control Unit
  • C00 - Armrest Control Unit
  • C03 - Cornerpost Control Unit
  • E00 - Tailings Master Sensor
  • E01 - Header Control Unit
  • E02 - Right Control Unit

The following is a step by step procedure, which shows operator action and system response.

1. Select Diagnostic Mode:

  • Turn key switch to run position.
  • Press the diagnostic button on the VISIONTRAK ™ display.
  • The Triple Display Tachometer will display dlA.

2. Select desired control unit:

Press the up or down arrow buttons on the VISIONTRAK ™ display to obtain the desired address, for example E00.

3. Determine if codes are available:

  • Press the enter button
  • Press the up arrow button once
  • The triple display tachometer will display codE if codes are available.
  • The triple display tachometer will display nonE if codes are not available.

4. Read and record Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

  • Press the Enter button.
  • Use the up or down arrow buttons to scroll through the Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  • Record each Control Unit name (A00, E00, E01, etc. E00 shown).
  • Record each suspect parameter number (SPN) (100002,639, 200000, etc. - 1493 shown).
  • Record each Failure Mode Identifier (FMI) (.04, .13, .04, et - .11 shown)

5. After all codes have been displayed, there is an option to clear these codes:

  • Scroll to end of codes list until CLr? is displayed.
  • Press enter button to clear code.
  • The tachometer should display donE.

6. Return to operating mode:

Press the back arrow button three times to return to normal operation.

NOTE: Some codes may be activated that are not addressed in this book. These codes are of low severity. Contact your John Deere dealer at your convenience.
