High-Moisture and Dry Corn Flow Chart

NOTE: This flow chart is a basic adjustment guide only. Some crop varieties and conditions may require deviation from the suggested guide. It is important that you perform one step (adjustment) at a time.

Step One - Initial Settings

Set combine to the following settings:

Precleaner 3 turns
Chaffer 16
Chaffer Extension 12
Sieve 11
Fan Speed 1400-1450 rpm
Cylinder Speed 300-330 rpm
Concave: Before setting concave first determine
average cob type for the field being harvested.
Rubbery/spongy cob, set concave 38-40
Hard/firm cob, set concave 50-55 (full open)

 

NOTE: These recommended settings will provide optimum performance in many conditions.

Run combine through crop at acceptable speed until separator is completely full (residue is coming out of chopper/spreader). Quickly pull multi-function (hydro) handle to neutral position while shutting off the separator under full load and idle down immediately. Let engine idle 30 seconds, then shut off.

If further adjustment is required, go to Step Two
