Moving Chopper to Windrow Position
IMPORTANT: If equipped with cob deflector, the cob deflector must be removed before moving chopper to windrow position. If you do not want to chop corn stalks when harvesting corn, move the chopper to the windrow position but do not power rotor. Powering the chopper in windrow position (in corn) will result in damage to the walkers from thrown cobs. Clean out the chopper before returning to chopper position NOTE: To change belts (See "CHANGING CHOPPER SPEED") in this manual. IF EQUIPPED: Remove nuts (A) and cob deflector (B). |

CAUTION:
Engine must be off, key removed and parking brake set.

IMPORTANT: Sensor connector (A) must be unplugged or it may be pulled apart and cause damage to the sensor wire. Disconnect sensor (A) and install in storage socket (B).

Remove support bolts (A) and store them in the ends of the supports. Loosen pivot bolt (B) (both sides) and swing tailboard down. Pull down locking pins (C) (both sides). IMPORTANT: Check to be sure the belt is not caught on the end of the straw walker countershaft. Crank chopper (D) all the way forward. Ensure locking pins (C) are engaged in forward holes. |

NOTE: In small grain crops to prevent chopper housing from filling with crop material, install drive belt so that chopper turns in windrow position. Move drive belt to small diameter groove (A) on jackshaft sheave and on large diameter groove (B) on chopper sheave. Reverse these steps to position the chopper for cutting. IMPORTANT: Check to be sure the belt is not caught on the end of the straw walker countershaft. (9450 Combine Only) If combine is equipped with a chaff spreader, the chaff spreader must be removed before moving the chopper to the windrow position. The chaff spreader cannot be operated with the chopper in the windrow position.
