Attaching Row-Crop Head to Sidehill 6620 Combines (610001-     )

IMPORTANT: Lock pin (A) (both sides) must be moved in before attaching header. Move pin by sliding stop bolt (B) in and down. If pins are left in the out position, feeder house will be damaged when header is attached.

IMPORTANT: If belt pickup or platform was used prior to using row-crop head, the pressure line and return line for belt pickup or reel drive must be connected together on the feeder house.

Sound horn, start engine and lower feeder house.

Drive forward slowly until feeder house is centered in row-crop head opening. Raise feeder house, lifting row-crop head all the way up. Shut off engine, set parking brake and remove key.

Disconnect chain (A) and lower safety stop (B) on cylinder (C).

NOTE: Loosen mating lock plate (B) on row-crop head, to let lock pin center. Retighten lock plate.

(Both Sides) Pivot stop bolt (A) up to let lock pin lock into row-crop head.

Install telescoping drive shaft between row-crop head and feeder house.

Tighten cap screw (B) on inner end of telescoping drive shaft and install cap screws (A), lock washer and nut through outer end.

Repeat last two steps on other side if necessary.

Connect DIAL-A-MATIC ™ header height control harness if equipped.

Connect both variable feeder house hoses at couplers (A) on left side of feeder house.

Sound horn, start engine and move the variable feeder house speed lever rearward to close top variable sheaves. Shut off engine, set parking brake and remove key.

IMPORTANT: Hoses must be connected when using a row-crop header. Connect combine pressure hose to return hose as shown. If connection is not made, hydraulic system can be damaged by overheating from constant operation of relief valve.

Route hoses (A) through holder (B) and store on holder (C).
