Stubble Shoes (Attachment)

Raise row-crop head to maximum height and lower safety stop.

Attach mounting bracket (A) to tool bar and position them behind row units that are directly in front of drive tires. Secure bracket with eyebolt (B), M16 x 150 cap screw (C), lock washers and nuts.

Attach strap (D) to bottom sheet support with existing hardware. If existing hardware and hole are not available, center punch and drill 8 mm (11/32-in.) hole through the bottom sheet support. Secure strap with M8 x 25 cap screw and lock nut.

Insert end of spring (E) (with slight bend) under pin (F).

NOTE: The spring has been installed backward for shipping purposes.

Attach stubble shoe and opposite end of spring to bracket with drilled pin (G) and spring locking pin (H).

Attach chain (I) to stubble shoe with M10 x 30 rd. hd. bolt (J), flat washer, lock washer and nut.

Insert opposite end of chain through slot in strap (D) until chain is tight. Secure chain with spring locking pin (K).

Raise safety stop and lower head to operating position.

causym CAUTION: A stubble shoe is under approximately 380 N (85 lb) tension when it is raised from the ground.

NOTE: To place shoes in storage position, lower row-crop head completely. Remove spring locking pin, pull chain tight and secure with spring locking pin.
