Transporting
CAUTION:
Follow local regulations regarding width, lighting and marking. The use of a spotter or a pilot vehicle is recommended on busy, narrow or hilly roads and when crossing bridges.
IMPORTANT:
See your combine operator's manual for specific tires required when operating the header.
Check local width laws before transporting. The row-crop head can be transported by leaving it attached to the combine but it is recommended that a trailer or truck be used to haul the header.
1.
Empty grain tank.
2.
Swing auger back and secure with brace.
3.
Make sure that the flashing warning lights on the header and combine are operating and the reflective material is clean and visible.
4.
Couple brake pedals together.
5.
Lower reel completely and raise platform to a position that will keep it off the ground but still allow good visibility.
6.
Drive at a speed that is safe for conditions.
