Crop Lifters (Optional)

Crop lifters can improve draper platform cutting performance in down or lodged crops. They engage the down crop in front of the platform, forcing the crop upward as the knife cleanly cuts the crop from below. The lifter arms contact the ground, and flex to follow ground contour. This allows the lifter point to easily slide under the down crop while the knife operates off the ground. The lifter can also enhance reel performance by reducing the need to operate the reel in the extreme down/forward position, allowing the reel to better assist the cut crop move onto the draper belts.

Since crop lifters typically operate while in contact with the ground, they are vulnerable to breakage from ground obstructions and contour-type movement. For these reasons, it is recommended that the lifters be removed when the crop conditions no longer warrant their use. The lifters are designed to be removed and/or reinstalled quickly without the use of tools.
