Harvesting in Tough Feeding Crop Conditions
Tilting the platform forward (increase side belt angle) using the turnbuckle and increasing vertical top beam spacing will prevent material from being pinched between side and center draper belts and help prevent accumulation of crop along edges of the center belt.
Move reel rearward to insure cut, heavy crop is transferred to the draper belts. Operate the feed drum with the fingers rotated fully clockwise (when viewed from the right-hand end of the platform) and with the feed drum lowered to aggressively sweep the rear of the center belt. Belt speed should be increased so that the heavy cut crop material does not accumulate at the outside edges of the center belt. Excess material at the center belt edges may result in crop material being pulled under the side belts. It may be necessary to shift the side belts inward for more side-to-center belt overlap (see Adjustments - Feeding Related section).
In extremely tough conditions, remove sump pan in front of center belt to reduce resistance to small amount of crop material which may recirculate under center belt (see Adjustments - Feeding Related section).
