Adjusting Draper Side Belt Position

The position of the side draper belt assemblies can be adjusted to improve feeding characteristics in certain crop conditions. In normal/dry conditions, the belt assemblies are best positioned in the outward positions (frame mount holes provided). If the belt assemblies will always be used in this position, the rubber extensions attached to the end sheet crop deflectors may be removed to improve material flow at the end sheets.

When harvesting in heavy, damp crops, positioning the side belts to the inward mount holes can improve material flow at the center belt and feed drum.

1. Loosen back sheet clamps (A) as required.

NOTE: Both side belts of the 25 ft. platform and the right-hand side belt of the 36 ft. platform (to offset extra material flow on right-hand belts) are shipped from the factory in the inward position. Mount holes are provided in the frame for both positions on all models.

2. Remove cap screws (A).

3. (BOTH SIDES): Push side frames in or out as required up to 101-127 mm (4-5 in.). Check to make sure adequate clearance to the feed drum fingers is maintained.

4. Use mounting hole seen through slot (A) to reinstall cap screws (B).

5. Tighten back sheet clamps (A) as required.
