1. Check gear case lubricant level at inspection plugs (A). Lubricant must be approximately 38 mm (1-1/2-in.) (B) from the top of the inspection hole. Fill to approximate level using grease fitting (C) on bottom of gear case with John Deere corn head grease (type "0" [zero] extreme pressure).

IMPORTANT: Do not over fill gear cases to prevent premature seal failure.

2. Lubricate idler bearing.
