Adjusting Pickup Finger Pitch

causym CAUTION: Engine must be off and key removed before working on reel.

When the finger pitch is adjusted correctly the fingers will be vertical to cutterbar. Too great a pitch causes reel to carry or wind cut crop around the reel because fingers do not release material after it is cut. Cut crop must be moved to underside of auger and not pushed over top of it. The pitch on the pickup reel fingers can be changed without changing position of reel on support arms.

Remove screw (A) (both ends of reel).

Loosen jam nut (B).

(For 15 ft. thru 22 ft. Platforms with single eccentric) Turn bolt (C) on both ends for pitch.

NOTE: With double eccentric reels, no adjustment bolt is required on left-hand end.

(For 25 ft. and 30 ft. Platforms) Turn bolt (C) on right-hand end of reel for pitch.

Tighten jam nut.

Install and tighten screw (A) (both ends).

NOTE: Second hole in fixed reel support bracket can be used for further pitch adjustment, or smaller changes (adding a nut is required).
