Adjusting Auger Height
CAUTION:
Engine must be off and key removed before working on auger.
IMPORTANT:
Before making any adjustments, raise platform until full weight of platform and reel is supported by the combine feeder house.
For most conditions, adjust auger height to give a minimum clearance of 3 mm (1/8 in.) between flighting and bolt heads on floor or floor strippers.
Disconnect right-hand driveshaft and place on storage pin. Rotate auger by hand to check clearance along full length of auger.
IMPORTANT:
(Flex Platforms Only) Place a 4 x 4 under the center and each end of the cutterbar (4 x 4 should not extend past the rear of the skid shoe), or have cutter bar locked out.
IMPORTANT:
Auger fingers must clear floor or flex sheet hold down bar by 16 mm (5/8 in.) and clear center hold down bar bolt heads by at least 11 mm (7/16 in.).
On right-hand side of platform, loosen nuts (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E).
To raise auger, loosen nut (F) and tighten nut (G). To lower auger, loosen nut (G) and tighten nut (F).
Tighten nuts (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E).
On left-hand side of platform, loosen nuts (H), (I) and (J).
To raise auger, loosen nut (K) and tighten nut (L). To lower auger, loosen nut (L) and tighten nut (K).
Tighten nuts (H), (I) and (J).
