DIAL-A-MATIC Header Height Control (Optional) Conversion for Flex Platforms on Pre-50 Series Combines
CAUTION:
Always lower the safety stop when working under platform. Turn off engine and remove key.
The DIAL-A-MATIC
header height control maintains the proper distance between the platform frame and the ground contour. This assures that the floating cutterbar is always within the 90 mm (3-1/2 in.) float range.
The system consists of multiple sensors that gage the relationship of sections of the cutterbar to the ground. These sensors send electrical signals to a valve on the combine to raise or lower the platform.
The flexible cutterbar floats within a 90 mm (3-1/2 in.) range. When any one section of the cutterbar floats higher than the rest, stop arm (A) moves sensing pad (B) and causes height sensing rod (C) to turn. Actuator arm rests on top of stop arm, preventing turning of height sensing rod if one section of cutterbar floats down lower than other sections. This makes the highest section of cutterbar control the DIAL-A-MATIC
system.
DIAL-A-MATIC
system works as follows:
Height sensing rod (C) turns wiper arm (D) in sensing box (E).
Movement of wiper arm (D) contacts one of five printed circuit pads.
The pad that is touched starts system for raising or lowering platform.
When wiper arm touches "raise" pad, platform raises.
When wiper arm touches "lower" pad, platform lowers.
